Toasted was first to break the line, but was content to lay second, asthe wellmeant firster Bistro (Eskendereya) showed decent early speed. Always traveling on the bridle for Ronnie Allen, Jr., she drew alongside Bistro at the quarter pole and put that one away with ease en route to a 4 3/4-length tally as the 6-5 favorite. The homebred is a half to Mayor Marv (Distorted Humor), SW, $151,758; and Midnight Hawk (Midnight Lute), GSW, $591,750. Texas-bred Miss Wineshine, a stakes-winner and third in the 1999 GI Spinaway S. for Mike Pegram, was purchased by Lantern Hill for $15,000 in foal to Midnight Lute at Keeneland January in 2012.
